While Roasted Matcha (Hojicha Powder) is typically made by grinding hojicha that is intended for brewing as a beverage, our Uji Kyoto Roasted Matcha is specifically designed as an ingredient for confectionery or latte use. We have adjusted the roasting level to be stronger, taking into consideration its compatibility with baking and milk.

Suggested Use: Hojicha latte and baking goods

The creamy mousse is very easy to obtain with a brisk whisk using a chasen (matcha whisk) in a “W” motion.

To brew: whisk 1 tsp with 4-6oz of 175 F water in a “W” motion. Enjoy! To make into a matcha latte, simply add an additional 6oz of a steamed milk of choice. You can optionally sweeten with vanilla syrup.
